Saint Mungo is the patron saint and founder of the city of Glasgow. There are four miracles associated with him which form the Glasgow Coat of Arms. The arms motto is "Let Glasgow Flourish"
Set of four turned-wood nesting dolls, painted by hand and finished in a clear satin varnish. Within the smallest doll is a little scroll with the lyrics that go with the tales of St Mungo's four miracles;
Here is the tree that never grew
here is the bell that never rang
here is the bird that never flew
here is the fish that never swam.
The set includes four St Mungo figures, each holds in their hands a symbol of one of the miracles.
As these are all hand painted, each set is unique and numbered and there may be minor variation to colour and design from that shown in the photo. The star is unique each time too and its expression may change.
